Excursion to Kutná Hora

10/10/2014 20:32

On Thursday 9/10, the ancient town of Kutná Hora became the destination of the school trip for the students of 2.B class. The town has a rich literature tradition and so the students visited e.g. the native houses of some famous Czech writers and poets such as Mikuláš Dačický (author of memoirs and versed satiric and patriotic pieces, born in Kutná Hora in 1555)  or Jiří Orten ( born in Kutná Hora in 1919). There are many more places connected with lives of prominent Czech writers such as Karel Havlíček Borovský or Jaroslav Vrchlický. The whole-day trip was well-balanced due to a visit to one of the medieval silver mines which also served as the background to one of J.K.Tyl´ s plays.
