Meeting in Vysoké Mýto (by M.B.)
The meeting of TERCIE students from Gymnázium Vysoké Mýto and the students of Gimnazjum in Ozorków (31/3/11 - 1/4/11) was a great success. The students had a lot of opportunities to speak English with their partners - some of them used the chance maximum which is great!
We fulfilled the programme 100%. On Thursday morning we got up very early and already at 7 o´clock we took part in the excursion to IVECO Czech Republic. At 9 o´clock we took the train to Prague where we showed our guests its most famous places and sights (Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Prague Castle).
On Friday morning we showed our partners round the school. Then we paid a visit to the Town Hall where the mayor of Vysoké Mýto, Ing. Miloslav Soušek had us and showed us round the town hall. Next we met the Catholic priest Mgr. Pavel Mistr who guided us inside St. Lawrence church. A tour round the most beautiful places and sights in the centre of Vysoké Mýto followed. After lunch there was an volleyball match between the Czech and Polish students. In the end we met in one of the classrooms to chat and evaluate together the project "Do you speak the same English?" and this project meeting.
We think both the project and the meeting were great and something to remember!
Visit to Vysoké Mýto (by A.J.)
On 30/03/11 –01/04/11 we visited our partners in a small town Vysoké Mýto in the Czech Republic. Our hosts gave us the warmest welcome ever and they did their best to make the trip as interesting for us as possible. Mirka planned the trip in every detail. On Thursday there was an excursion to IVECO factory and a trip to Prague, which is a stunning and breathtaking city “with a soul”. Our friends showed us their pretty town Vysoké Mýto as well and gave us a guided tour around it. We had a chance to see many historic buildings and places there. Also, Mirka arranged a meeting with the town mayor, who welcomed us in the town and gave the students small gifts. All of us were surprised how spotless and well-maintained their school, parks and streets are. There were lots of opportunities to chat with each other and to discuss our common work on the project. We took lots of wonderful photos and we’ll have fantastic memories forever.
It seems that this visit was a wonderful way to somehow finish the project that lasted for 7 months. We’ll never forget it, I’m sure.
Meeting in Ozorków
Weren´t we lucky that we could meet each other at the beginning of the project? The meeting took place in Ozorków on 6/10/10 - 8/10/10. Our Polish partners were very hospitable and friendly. Our programme was absolutely full and included an excursion to Primavera Company, visit to Lodz or evening disco. There were lots of opportunities to get to know much better, to chat with each other as well as to discus our next steps in the project, e.g. the LOGO design or the work on the idioms. We enjoyed every minute of the visit and the more we look forward to our common work on the project and our next meeting in Vysoké Mýto in the spring. We have not only lots of wonderful photos but also fantastic experiences. After the visit, both the Czech and Polish students wrote their reports / essays about the meeting and as well as contributed to the forum (answering the teachers´ questions). You can also lean more about the meeting from the final presentations.
