Lecture about "Great War"
On 10th October the students of our school took part in the meeting with Mgr. Jiří Junek, the former director of the local museum, presently working as MP, who gave a lecture on the First World War with the focus on our region and town. His presentation included a lot of unique old photographs that helped us overcome the one-hundred-year barrier and at least partly understand the days of our great-grandparents. The lecture took two hours and in the end the students praised it with and enthusiastic applause. Mr. Junek also saw an exhibition about the Great War that had been prepared in the school library by the teachers and students – this exhibition displayed a number of original documents from that period as well as some materials created by the students working on the eTwinning project World War One.
